Deadman Danny is a product tester, safety specialist and salesman for Fairfax Industries. He is also a living skeleton who will happily show you the jetpack.

The job

Daniel, as the patrons call him, works for Fairfax Industries as a product tester, safety specialist and salesman. He insists he isn't a salesman at all, but a prophet blessed and cursed with showing people the future.

As a safety specialist he tests Fairfax equipment and is often badly injured doing it. Being undead keeps him from fully dying, but he can still feel pain. He says he defined the best practices for handling warple grenades, which saved lives.

How he became a skeleton is protected by a non-disclosure agreement. Victor asked, Nurse Harrow asked, and nobody has gotten an answer.

The jetpack

His jetpack is the Chimera Mark 1, a prototype built by McGinnis. It runs on refined soul extract, which is a great power source and insanely flammable. It's faulty, it overheats, and in early testing it exploded before it ever left the ground.

Danny admires McGinnis as a genius and calls her Maggie. She uses him to test her inventions and he has been hurt in those tests more than once. He doesn't seem to mind.

Company man

He loves Maximilian Fairfax, the CEO, sees him as a father figure, and credits him with making him the man he is. He will even pitch you on the war: Fairfax Industries has a subsidiary, Eldridge Tactical Solutions, operating in North Ixia, and Danny's sales pitch practically writes itself.

Enemies

  • Rat King hasn't forgotten that Danny advertised the vermicide that killed 31 of his subjects.
  • Nurse Harrow has threatened to exorcise him right out of his skull.

What does he want?

Honestly, it isn't clear. Recognition, maybe. A promotion. Protecting Fairfax. The patrons each have their own guess: the Archmother tells him his promotion is at hand, and the Hidden King says only he can save Fairfax from the serpents around him.

The short version

A skeleton with a jetpack that keeps exploding, a boss he adores, a rat king who wants him dead, and a sales pitch for every occasion. He is a company man to the bone.
